Miniatures 2015: It's a Small World by NUS Symphony Orchestra

Local double bass ensemble, BASSically, will be performing an item in Miniatures 2015: It's a Small World by NUS Symphony Orchestra. In this chamber music concert featuring performances by many chamber music groups made up of members of the NUS Symphony Orchestra and guests,
BASSically will be performing Super Mario Bros (1985) Overworld/ Main Theme composed by living Japanese composer, Koji Kondo. The arrangement for a double bass trio that will be performed by BASSically in Miniatures 2015 is by Thomas Yao, a Singapore-based double bassist. Thomas Yao is one of the founding members of BASSically together with Sanche Jagatheesan, Li Yongrui, Yang Xun and Cheng Pei Yun.
The "Overworld Theme" from the Nintendo Entertainment System game, "Super Mario Bros" is commonly regarded as the main theme for the game. Even when it is looped over long periods of time, it remains enjoyable to listen to.
Presented by ExxonMobil Campus Concert, Miniatures is a concert which showcases the NUS Symphony Orchestra's chamber music groups. "This year's concert will bring the audience's imagination on a journey around the world, from Asia to Scandinavia and beyond, featuring classical, contemporary as well as popular world compositions.
